Huskymail Forwarding
Your HuskyMail can always be accessed at http://huskymail.uconn.edu with your NetID and password. What many people don’t know about is the http://huskymailforwarding.uconn.edu page, which allows you to have your HuskyMail automatically sent to another email account, such as Gmail.
You can configure a mail program such as Microsoft Outlook or a handheld device (i.e. an iPhone) to send and receive your HuskyMail. The setup process varies across devices; we have documentation available only for Microsoft Outlook 2003, linked under Windows XP below. Otherwise, follow these guidelines when adding a new mail account:
- Server type: IMAP
- Username: NetID
- Password: NetID password
- Incoming mail server: huskymail.uconn.edu, port 993
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.uconn.edu, port 25
Windows XP Configuration
- From the Tools menu, select E-mail Accounts.
- Choose Add a new email account and click Next.
- You will be prompted to choose a server type; select IMAP.
- Next, enter your name, email address, and HuskyMail password.
- The incoming mail server should be huskymail.uconn.edu, and the outgoing should be smtp.uconn.edu.
- After this, click on the More settings… box in the bottom-right corner of the window.
- Make sure that the incoming mail server is set to use port 993, and check “use a secure connection.”
- The outgoing mail server should be set to port 25. Click OK, then Next, and you should be finished! – See an example
